Cities as Refuge, Cities as Home: Understanding Belonging and Acceptance Among IDPs and Host Communities in Iraq

Our new research study, in partnership with IOM Iraq and the Returns Working Group, expands on our previous exploration of local integration as a durable solution to internal displacement. Focusing on 20 locations in Iraq with the highest proportion of IDPs, the study compiles indicators among IDPs and host communities as well as the locations themselves for a comprehensive evaluation of whether and how location integration is taking place in a given urban location.

This research plan provides information on the rationale, data collection, and initial indicators framework for the study.
